The Dream Team…putting the FUN in fundraising! Think you have what it takes?
Our good friend and 2009 Detroit Music Awards recipient of the Outstanding Blues/R&B Songwriter, Paul Miles, was inspired by the work of L2G and decided to lend his time and blues passion to the cause. With the support of Tracy Thomas, the 2009 Detroit Music Awards recipient of the Outstanding Jazz Vocalist, they crafted a L2G song with their own spin on it. “Peace and Blues.”
Special thanks to Reverend Sexton and Northside Studios who donated the time to record the song.
Detroit’s very 1st Ignite was a huge success last night, attracting a sold out venue of Metro Detroiters and Michigan enthusiasts to engage in presenting on various topics that inspire us. Ryan presented on a higher standard of charitable giving, which was very well received. Pictures HERE & Video on the way!
Ryan was approached this past week by the University of Michigan Career Center to reflect upon his experience as a college student starting his own non-profit organization. In honor of this month’s Not-For-Profit Career Expo, they wanted to spotlight powerful examples of students and alumni in the non-profit industry. Read about his passion HERE!
It is a bittersweet day for L2G, as our very own Creative Coordinator, Kelly, has wrapped up her American life (for the moment) and begun her adventure to the beautiful island of Majorca, Spain. While her movie productions and her creative eye will be missed, her impact has been made and adventurous spirit is admired.
As Ryan has immersed himself into the public speaking arena, he has found himself needing your votes for the very 1st Detroit Ignite: A speech that lasts 5 minutes and allows for 20 power point slides that rotate every 15 seconds. This is a big opportunity to expose Ryan’s speaking career, grow Live to Give and inspire Detroiters about social good.
CAST YOUR VOTE for Ryan and his topic of “Making Charity Personal – The NEW Standard”.
The top 7 vote collectors will be given the opportunity to speak and voting ends Monday, February 8 at 5:00p.
Ryan’s Topic Description:
What if every single non-profit organization was required to add a more personal, accountable and transparent component to the charitable experience? What if donations were no longer given to these organizations unless the exact path of the dollar could be followed and the donor could see the very impact their dollar made? Lastly, what if this could be done with the simple tools that we have at our disposal in today’s time?
This will be a topic of social good and entrepreneurship that I am passionate about discussing. With the technology that we have available to us today and the instant gratification we all indulge in, being personally connected to our donations must not be a luxury, but the norm.
